| dc.description.abstract | Sri Lanka has lacked effective and convenient channels for public participation in the budget process. In the Open Budget Survey 2023, Sri Lanka had the lowest participation score in a decade and ranked 82nd out of 125 countries.
The Budget Proposal Hub launched by Verité Research in Sri Lanka, is a first of its kind trilingual platform that empowers people to participate in the national budget process by submitting proposals for the consideration of parliament; as well as by voting on proposals.
The aim is to encourage the participation of people and organisations in a process that is hugely consequential to their future. Those who engage with the platform will receive templates and guidance on drafting credible proposals, assistance in engaging with government and parliament, and Publicity and social engagement on their proposals. | en_US |
