dc.description.abstract | The Open Budget Survey (OBS) is the world’s only independent, comparative, and fact-based research instrument that uses internationally accepted criteria to assess public access to central government budget information, formal opportunities for public participation in the national budget process, and the role of budget oversight institutions, such as the legislature and the auditor, in the budget process. The 2023 edition of the Open Budget Survey (OBS), the world’s only index which assesses the transparency of national budget cycles, has given Sri Lanka's budget transparency a score of 37 out of 100, placing the country 80th out of 125 globally, and third in South Asia. | en_US |
