dc.description.abstract | This infographic includes the summary of parliament in August 2023. There were 8 parliament sittings in August 2023. During the 8 parliament sittings, 78 written questions were asked but only 54 questions were answered. There were two motions at the adjournment time. 20 announcements were made by the Speaker during the 8 parliament sittings. The number of Bills and Regulations were 9 and 3 respectively. Under Private Member's Bills, there was no Incorporation Bill whereas no Bill for the public interest. There were 10 questions by the Private notice at the parliament in August 2023. 60 Points of order were raised in total, and 56 points of order were ruled as technical points of order. Only 4 were ruled as disruptive points of order in the parliament during this month. 26 statements were considered as expunged statements at the parliament. Anura Dissanayake was the most responsible MP for the expunged statements at the parliament in August 2023. | en_US |
