dc.description.abstract | On 23rd October 2023, government media outlets Rupavahini and ITN, along with the private media outlet Sirasa, did not report on the protests conducted by citizens against the electricity bill increase during their prime-time news broadcasts. Meanwhile, private media outlet Swarnavahini covered the protests within the content of their prime-time news but did not feature it in the headlines.
