    Abstract
    The UN has dedicated the 24th of January as the International Day of Education in celebration of the role of education for peace and development. Sri Lankas’ Education Expenditure has been lagging behind regional peers. Sri Lankas’ highest expenditure on education was in 2017 where expenditure as a percentage of GDP was 2.80% and 14.5% as a percentage of total expenditure.
