Ranasinghe Runout - Parliamentary Report cards: Roshan Ranasinghe, Harin Fernando and Pavithra Devi Wanniarachchi

Abstract

This infographic was created as a detailed responsive post in-terms of the removal of SLPP MP Roshan Ranasinghe from his portfolios as Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, and Irrigation. This removal came after he replaced Sri Lankan Cricket Board (SLC) board with an interim committee and then his open criticism of the President in the parliament. After that, SJB MP Harin Fernando and SLPP MP Pavithradevi Wanniarachchi were appointed as the Minister of Sports and Youth affairs and Minister Irrigation respectively. This report card shows the contributions of above three MPs in 8th and 9th parliaments. It is based on analysis of Hansard data from September 2015 to February 2020 and August 2020 to September 2023. This includes overall ranks, district ranks, attendance in parliament sittings, total number of productive interventions they made in parliament and topics which were discussed most by them in the parliament.
