    Abstract
These two infographics explain how parliament can be dissolved before the end of its term and when the term of the current parliament end. According to the Paragraph 1 of Article 70 of the Constitution, the President cannot dissolve parliament before February 2023, unless Parliament itself requests it be dissolved, in the form of a resolution. Sri Lanka’s last parliamentary election was on 5 August 2020 and the first meeting was on the 20 August. As per the Constitution (i.e. Paragraph 2 of Article 62), this Parliament can continue till August 2025.
