Frequent changes to ministry compositions: Is it in the public interest?

Abstract

This infographic is based on the analysis of gazettes published by the Department of Government Printing from January 2010 to December 2021. This analysis looks into the creation of ministries or shifting of institutions within the ministries. During this period, the ministry compositions were changed 81 times; President Mahinda Rajapaksa (January 2010 - January 2015) 9 times, President Maithripala Sirisena (January 2015 - November 2019) 28 times and President Gotabaya Rajapaksa (2020-2021) 44 times.
