The article published in Daily Mirror on 5 May 2018 disclosed the relationship between victim and perpetrator/suspect when reporting on an incident of sexual violence. On 17 May Lakbima published an article using the derogatory term "දුෂණය" (Dooshanaya) to describe sexual violence. Thus, both newspapers have violated the media ethical guidelines.en_US
