dc.description.abstractPARTLY TRUE: The number of murders in Sri Lanka in 2008 was 1,378. In 2010, the number was 741; in 2013, it was 586; in 2014, it was 548; and in 2015 it was 476. Last year, in 2017, there were 452 homicides in Sri Lanka. The underlying cause of 90% of these murders is drugs. In 2012, there were 2,212 incidents of rape in Sri Lanka; in 2014, there were 2,008; and in 2016, there were 1996. Last year, in 2017, there were 1,732 cases of rape in Sri Lanka. In the last 6 months, there have been 714 cases of rape in Sri Lanka. None of these reports is false.
