The Act aims to provide citizens’ with access to government information, to increase their participation in the public sphere and create a culture of transparency and accountability in the day-to-day operations of government agencies. This manual explains what the Right to Information Act is and describes how citizens can use its provisions to gain access to information from government agencies. This RTI manual was distributed to participants of the three RTI workshops held for regional business chambers. The manual was originally written in English (Right to Information: Training Manual) by Malsirini de Silva and rewritten in Sinhala by Supun Jayawardena.
