These materials aim to educate participants on the best practices for engaging with media and leveraging social platforms to amplify their messages.
This presentation was created and delivered by the Communications team for the workshop organised by the Econ Team as part of an assignment. The English version was prepared and presented by the communications team and was subsequently translated into Sinhala and Tamil. The Sinhala version was used for the media workshops conducted in Matara (30th July 2024), while the Tamil version was used for the media workshop held in Jaffna (16th July 2024).

These materials aim to educate participants on the process of filing and obtaining information through RTI requests, with examples of how Verité Research has successfully used RTI in its work to hold the government accountable.
This presentation was created by the Legal Team and delivered by Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) for the RTI workshop organised by the Econ Team as part of an assignment. The English version was prepared by the legal team and subsequently translated into Sinhala and Tamil. The Sinhala version was used for the RTI workshops conducted in Matara (30th July 2024), while the Tamil version was used for the RTI workshop held in Jaffna (16th July 2024).

Additionally, they cover essential tools for engaging with parliament through MPs, such as methods for asking questions, bringing attention to issues, and advocating for reform.&#13;
&#13;
The materials also highlight the importance of engaging through parliamentary committees, including Special Purpose Committees, Sectoral Oversight Committees, and Caucuses. These committees offer specific avenues for civil society organizations to participate and influence the legislative process.

Verité Research conducted a series of public finance training sessions specifically designed for journalists and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). The objectives of the training were to improve journalists' and CSOs' knowledge on public finance in Sri Lanka, enhance their understanding of the budget process and key actors involved, enable advocacy work related to the budget, and track the government's expenditure and revenue with an aim of holding the government accountable for the use of public funds. The topics covered under this training were: (1) The National and Provincial Budget Cycle, (2) Government Expenditure, and (3) Government Revenue.
This IKR submission consists of 6 slide decks and is available in Sinhala and Tamil.
